Wonderful book. BUT DO NOT WATCH THE MOVIE. IT WAS MADE WITHOUT THIS FAMILY'S PERMISSION!!! Voice of the Martyrs has ridden on the coattails of Wurmbrand story for years, asking for donations in his name, for his cause, so they could spend $28 million dollars on their building in Bartlesville. The president of the Voice of the Martyrs, Tom White, raped his own daughter and committed suicide when he was found out. To make up for their soiled reputation, they then made the movie based on this book. The actress who portrays Richards wife, Sabina, is known in Romania as a PUBLIC ADVOCATE OF HOMOSEXUAL MARRIAGE AND PUBLIC SEX. Please do not support VOM by purchasing the movie of this book. But do read the book, it has been such a blessing to read! This could of been a great book, if the author would of just told his story however, he author has a strong disapproval of American Christian's. In the first few pages of the book he writes--'The tragedy of all the captive nations is a responsibility on the hearts of American and British Christians. Americans must know that they have at times unwittingly assisted the Russians in imposing upon us a regime of murder and terror. He seems to dislike America greatly. I could not continue reading, after about half of the book. He suffered greatly and has spread the word of Christ to the lost. The beatings were horrific. I am glad he has been able to spread the word but he has no right to judge others (Americans) because we have not had to live the life he has. He condemns our leaders for not suffering as he has.This could of been a very interesting book had it of been written differently, as it is, I became disgusted with his dislike for the Western world and I have discarded this book.
